Darkness At Noon by Harold Krents

Sure. Being blind is a disability but it does not mean that they have a multi disability. When people come across a person with a disability they generally do not know how to act. The protagonist of this short story has a been stereotyped as every time he goes to do something they assume because he is blind he also cannot hear. This is certainly not the case. They do not bother to ask him if he is able to hear, they just assume and begin to act silly by treating him as a deaf blind. The speaker even speaks about a situation at the hospital. You would think that at the hospital that they would question or examine his heat ability and not just assume him to be deaf or hard of hearing and bring in an interpreter. This is the sad reality that many persons who have any type of disability face. People don’t know how to act around your and end up irritating the disable and embarrassing themselves and said person.
