 The protagonist of the story lives in a home with her parents. The house they resides is small and unfavorable with a lot of renovations to be made. Even though the family is unhappy about their living circumstances when they confront their parents the answers is always a possibility of them moving out in wake of waiting for their dream house. 

After 20 years of living in this home, her parents were finally able to move into their dream home. From small rooms, sharing a play room with their fathers game room, a damaged room etc. the speakers parents were able to move into a bid, modern, cabin styled house in the woods. The speakers even compares the house to being similar to a live in ski lodge. what a drastic difference from when they were younger. Now as adults when they visit they not only don't have to share a space, their personal space was large. 

they waited long for the dream house but when it became a reality, they did many activities as a family. since in the woods they had a beautiful view and acres to explore. Though adults out of the home, when they visit it became an opportunity for them to relax and act like children. Their mother even did things with them like roasting hot dogs and marshmallows in the fire. This surely was a drastic difference than what they had become accustomed to as they grew up in that small pre- dream house. 

Moreover, the daughter and son in the family, though enjoy and appreciate the new home, they never forgot where they came from. They were not always afforded a life to live in a large luxury home and would sometimes in their adult lives take trips to go and visit the old house and neighborhood. They remembered everything. One of the most important thing they remembered were the wonderful memories of them crammed in the house and doing things together or being all in the same space doing different things. With the space in the new house, they won't be able to do the same things like gossip and brush their teeth, because everyone has their own space, there is no need for everyone to be in the same area brushing their teeth talking about random things.
